Microsoft 365 Copilot is the natural choice for a company that lives in Microsoft 365: it is already signed in, already knows the permissions and sits inside the apps people use. promptev is not tied to one suite or one model. One agent can read SharePoint, Google Drive and Confluence, act in Jira, and answer in Slack or WhatsApp, with each person's permissions applied and no per-seat price. Many companies use both.

Where Microsoft 365 Copilot is the better choice

  • Inside the Microsoft apps. Copilot works in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, where people already are.
  • Identity and permissions are already there. It uses Microsoft Entra and the permissions of Microsoft 365 with no extra setup.
  • Certifications. Microsoft has a very long list, including FedRAMP and HIPAA. promptev has SOC 2 Type II for the service it runs.
  • Copilot Studio for builders in the Microsoft world. It publishes agents to Teams, websites, Slack and WhatsApp, and it uses the Power Platform connectors.

Where promptev differs

  • It is not tied to a suite. One agent reads a SharePoint site, a Google Drive folder and a Confluence space, acts in Jira, and answers in Slack or WhatsApp.
  • It is not tied to a model. You connect your own keys for more than 30 model providers and choose a model for each agent.
  • No seats. promptev has no seats and no plans. A new workspace gets 2,500 free credits with no card. After that a credit costs $0.005, and you buy from $5. Microsoft 365 Copilot is a per-user add-on that also needs a qualifying Microsoft 365 licence.
  • One simple price for an action. In promptev a tool call is 1 credit. Copilot Studio weights its credits by feature.
  • Approvals on every tool, with conditions. Each tool has its own rule, and a person decides in the App, by e-mail, in Slack or in their AI app.
  • Your own database and storage. A workspace can keep its knowledge in its own PostgreSQL database. We found no customer-hosted option published for Copilot Studio.

Choose Copilot if your company lives entirely in Microsoft 365 and wants AI inside those apps.

Choose promptev if your knowledge and tools are spread across vendors, you want your own model keys, or you do not want to pay per seat.

Use both if the suite is covered and you need agents that cross the boundaries.
